The Green Team internship is a program designed to engage and empower fourteen high school students from the Chollas Creek Watershed. Over the course of a year, participants dive into a curriculum that combines community service, climate science, college preparation, and career readiness activities.
The Green Team.
The Green Team.
Our goal is to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and real-world experiences needed to navigate their educational and professional journeys while planting a deep sense of environmental stewardship and civic responsibility.
Throughout the school year, the Green Team meets after school to be part of a variety of enriching activities. From improving essential soft skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and communication. To our Saturday meetings geared more towards climate risk assessments and community service-learning projects.
The program is completed in a summer internship with a local business or university partner, where Green Team interns will have the opportunity to apply their newfound knowledge and skills in a real-world setting. Supported by mentors from UCSD Community Station, this internship experience serves as a foundation for their future career pathways.
This integration provides students with meaningful career exposures and guidance, ensuring they are well prepared to make informed decisions about their post graduate plans.
