Outdoor Learning

Groundwork offers a safe, outdoor learning program that contributes to students’ sense of self, creativity, and overall confidence in a natural environment.

Safety Guidelines

Students and teachers will be fever-free, wear masks, sanitize our hands often and practice social distancing at the EarthLab. Teachers will also sanitize any shared materials.

Curriculum

The students will participate in science, engineering, art and gardening activities during all of the programs. Programs are designed to provide hands-on, outdoor education experiences to add to the lessons learned in classrooms and strengthen our connection to nature.

EarthLab Outdoor Learning Program

After-school and summer programs for San Diego Unified students with the purpose of teaching climate science, encouraging innovative thinking, and promoting critical problem solving to find solutions to climate change. As COVID-19 concerns continue to ensue, we are offering a safe learning environment for our local students to immerse themselves in nature and to gain positives learning experiences amongst the pandemic.
