Southcrest Trails Community Cares

38thalpha38th&Alpha2Groundwork San Diego-Chollas Creek has completed major improvements to the entrance of the City of San Diego 38th and Alpha Park in Southcrest. At the request of community leaders there, Groundwork San Diego-Chollas Creek sought and received funds from the State Department of Water Resources to install split rail fencing, remove non-native vegetation and weeds, plant 40 trees, install a solar-powered irrigation system, and, with the help of Chavez Elementary and Emerson-Bandini students, plant thousands of native plants. The remainder of the park is part of a current City planning process.
